Sinaia Attractions

As is described in international reference ski sites, Sinaia has beautiful past epoch hotels as Caraiman, Palace and Păltiniş Castle Hotel: "The traditional resort of Sinaia has some beautiful buildings including the Palace Hotel and the seventeenth century monastery, King Carol built his summer residence here in 1870. The largest ski area in Romania is also here, with the biggest skiable vertical".

Unlimited possibilities for tourists, and Sinaia's unique free of dust atmosphere makes a vacation here truly special. While you are here visit Sinaia Monastery (founded in 1690 - 1695 by Spatharus Mihail Cantacuzino), the Peleş Castle — you can not simply visit Sinaia without seeing Peleş — and the ancient Casino of Sinaia. Built in 1912, the Casino is looked for several international seminars and meetings. Other important attractions of the resort are: Badea Cârţan's Grave (1849-1911) which can be found in the town's cemetery, but also Sinaia Arinişul the National Rezervation.

Nice restaurants with Romanian and German specific, German Pub, Bars, Discos (Blue Angel Disco and Black Horse Disco are well-known), Swimming Pools, sauna and fitness center, are available. The area offers many choices for dining, from pizza parlors to elegant dining. Prices will please everyone, from budget-conscious families to more discerning diners. For the most part, dress is casual at most establishments. As you would expect the nightlife is chic and refined. But there are also plenty of lively bars and nightclubs to dance the night away. Do not be surprised to see a celebrity or two while you are there.

Sinaia Surroundings

From Sinaia, the winding road takes you through Poiana Şapului to Buşteni. Here we advice you to take the Buşteni-Babele cable car to arrive to Babele (old ladies) — an unique natural monument — stones looking likeold ladies talking.

You can visit Poiana Braşov — a winter resort founded in 1895. Nowadays the resort resembles more of a town than a ski resort with its luxurious hotels, fantastic apartments and classy restaurants. For more details, click here.

Another attraction is represented by Bucegi Mountains (Bucegi National Park). The 300 square km. Bucegi Mts. are the very cradle of Romanian mountaneering. Rich in resources and tourist attractions, the Bucegi Mts. boast a well-developed chalet network and 33 marked trails granting access to all the tourist attractions: The Sphinx, Prahova Valley, Bran area — including Bran Castle — and Ialomiţa Valley.
