MSC in Computer Science at the Faculty of Mathematics, Dept. of Computer Science, "Al.I.Cuza" University of Iasi, Romania. MSc thesis on complexity of Formal Languages.
PhD in Computer Science awarded by the "Babes-Bolyai" University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. PhD thesis on semantic and protection models for scientific and statistical databases.

Domains of expertise: Genetic Algorithms and Evolutionary Optimisation; Databases (data mining; statistical databases; relational model).

From 2000: professor at the Faculty of Computer Science, "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University of Iasi.
1995-2000: associate professor, same faculty.
1990-1995: lecturer, Faculty of Mathematics, Dept. of Computer Science (from 1992: Faculty of Computer Science), "Al.I.Cuza" University of Iasi.
1983-1990: programmer and part-time assistant professor at the Faculty of Mathematics, Dept. of Computer Science, "Al.I.Cuza" University of Iasi.
