MeCBIC 2008 will be held at "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University of Iaşi, the oldest higher education institution in Romania. Since 1860, the university has been carrying on a tradition of excellence and innovation in the fields of education and research. With over 36.000 students and 900 academic staff, the university enjoys a high prestige at national and international level, and cooperates with over 180 universities world-wide.

The climate in the area is temperate with warm summers. Medium (or even light) weight clothing is recommended at the time of the meeting.

The participants at MeCBIC 2008 can be accommodated at Gaudeamus Centre of International Exchanges (University Residence Hall), situated within 5-10 minutes walking distance from the main University Building, the venue of the event.

The rooms at Gaudeamus are fully furnished, including sheets, linen and towels. Each room has a private bathroom and a little balcony. On each floor there is a kitchen fully equipped for cooking. Laundry can be done at request.

The number of available rooms is limited. In order for us to reserve a room at Gaudeamus, please indicate as soon as possible your arrival and departure dates (as indicated in your registration form). The booking will only be confirmed; The accommodation will be paid directly by yourself on site (please note that Gaudeamus does not accept credit cards).
The participants staying at Gaudeamus will have the possibility to have their lunch at the Gaudeamus restaurant, at the estimative price of 10-16 ROL (3-5 Euro).
More expensive hotels are also available. Please note that if you decide not to stay at Gaudeamus, we will be more than willing to answer your queries on other options. However, we are not in a position to take care of such reservations ourselves. Thus, you will have to take care of handling your own reservation at the hotel of your choice.
